It is the freest of all , its code is open to all , it is freely available and you can even sell it . Because of this , and this was certainly Linus's intention , programers of all types have freely contributed to the OS and it is now probably the fastest developing OS in the world.

A good example of the free software concept is Apache the Web server that comes free in most Linux distributions . Over 50% of all the Web servers in the world are Apache servers , and the percentage is growing . This is not because its free , although that helps , it is just the best and it is constantly improving . It is this continual improvement which is going to revolutionize the software market . Netscape is the first to recognize this , it's true Netscape needs to do something to hold off the MS onslaught but they are making a smart move .
